Chairman of the Media and Communications Committee, MP Dr. Ibrahim Al-Moussawi, said: LBCI channel surprised us by broadcasting insulting, provocative and inflammatory cartoon videos in which it attacks a national religious symbol, our Secretary General Sheikh Naeem Qassem, as well as the sanctity of the resistance and its mujahideen. He pointed out that what the aforementioned channel did is completely condemnable, contradicts the most basic calculations of national interest and moral values, and provides a service to the enemy. Al-Moussawi denounced the open attempt by LBCI channel to incite sedition and civil division in light of an open Israeli war of aggression against Lebanon. We call on everyone from all sides not to attack spiritual shrines and religious symbols of all affiliations and representations. We also call on the competent legal and judicial authorities to carry out their duties towards media institutions and platforms to stop inciting sectarian strife and offending broad segments of the Lebanese in the name of freedom. Expression, at a time when what you are actually doing constitutes a stab at national unity and fragmentation of internal cohesion, at a time when Lebanon needs it most.
